Greeter: MLK Library VITA Site
General Job Function: The Greeter/Intake Coordinator works at a tax site operated by Community Tax Aid for low and moderate-income taxpayers. The Greeter is responsible for opening a tax site, greeting and orienting clients, overseeing the client sign-in sheet, and assisting clients with the completion of the Client Intake Sheet. The Greeter reports to the Site Coordinator.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Reception 85%
- Arrive at tax site prior to opening and prepare it for receiving clients.
- Ensure that all volunteers sign in at beginning and sign out at end.
- Greet clients and help them sign in.
- Explain site process to clients so they know what to expect.
- Provide clients with intake form and assist them in completing it, if necessary.
- Screen clients for income guidelines and documentation.
- Make copies and sort tax forms, as needed.
- Provide crowd control, as necessary.
Site Administration 15%
- Assist with compiling site statistics.
- Keep files and supplies organized and notify the Community Tax Aid office when the site needs additional forms and supplies.
- Keep computer printers and copiers loaded with paper and change toner as needed.
- Timely forward attendance sheets and other reports to CTA.
Position Qualifications:
- Availability Mondays, Tuesdays, from 3:45pm-9:00pm, Thursdays from 12:45pm-5:30pm, Saturdays from 9:15am-5:30pm and/or Sundays from 12:45pm to 5:00pm. We would like to find one candidate to fill all the hours, but are willing to split the position based on available work hours of strong candidates.

Position Classification: Non-Exempt Temporary/Seasonal. Position runs from late January through late April.
